Tubifi was founded by four people. We’re a unique blend of professionals with very different backgrounds, wildly diverse skills and one common belief – that the very best doesn’t have to cost the very most. As we said right at the start, world-class advertising comes at a price. A very low one.
John has more than thirty years of highly successful achievements in private and publicly held companies ranging in size from $5 million to $5 billion in annual revenues. He has held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and General Manager in e-commerce, services, high technology, retail and light manufacturing businesses.
John has led three successful IPOs and has significant experience in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and turnaround management. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Emptoris, a leading developer of strategic supply chain solutions for large corporations.
John has worked extensively outside of the United States, in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Southern Africa. Additionally, he was an audit partner and headed a regional business consulting practice in two Big 4 accounting firms in South Africa.
John is a chartered accountant and chartered management accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town.
Ian has over 30 years of experience in advertising. His career has taken him from Johannesburg to London, Brussels, and Dublin, where he was Executive Creative Director of Ogilvy & Mather.
During that time he has worked on many large global accounts, including, amongst many others, BMW, Swatch, Perrier, Vodafone, Cadbury, Kraft International, Ford and Barclays Bank.
His work has won many globally recognized awards, including, Clios, Sharks, Loeries and at the New York and Cannes festivals. But perhaps his most important campaign was done for a referendum in South Africa, which proved to be the first step towards dismantling apartheid.
His writing has not been confined to advertising, having contributed to two photographic books, both on football in Africa. He is currently working on a children’s book highlighting the stupidity of the human race.
Harbal is leading the company’s product organization, which is responsible for the vision, strategy, design and development of Tubifi’s SaaS based video advertising platform.
Harbal is a new generation leader in the media industry with 20 years of diverse experience in Technology, Film and TV production and Management. During that time as an entrepreneur he was Co-Founder and President of PTI Media Network, a company that produced TV shows and commercials, he was Senior Product Manager for consumer electronic company Sonos and was Principal Engineer and Architect at companies like Avid, Sonus Networks and 3COM.
At Avid, Harbal’s team was recipient of the 62nd Primetime Emmy Engineering Award. He has one patent-pending.
Harbal holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Punjabi University Patiala, graduate degree in Film and TV Production from NewYork Film Academy and MBA from Babson College.
Micha is driving the sales strategy to build a strong customer base and is developing strategic relationships with stock video and audio providers, technology partners, and agencies.
He has over 15 years working in the media, technology and finance industries. With Avid Technology, the leader in video and audio production tools, he executed a game-changing stock footage marketplace business model with leading stock footage companies. He drove the implementation of Avid’s first ever subscription revenue model involving several SaaS components. Micha drove various other innovative solutions for the media creation space in collaboration with leading industry technology partners and the MIT Media Lab.
Previously he held various positions in Sales, Marketing, Finance and M&A with GTECH and Nuance, leaders in the gaming and speech recognition industries.
Micha holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and BS in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.
